At Christmas time, it's often the small things that can make a big difference.

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity launches Give a Gift Appeal. The charity is reaching out to the Calderdale and Huddersfield community to raise funds or donate items to provide a Christmas Gift for patients in hospital or receiving community services over the Christmas period.

A donation of just £5 could buy:

  • A soft, cosy blanket for a baby
  • An interactive toy for a child
  • A fun activity pack for a teenager
  • A giftset for a patient

Charity Manager, Emma Kovaleski, said: "Christmas is a time to spend with loved ones, and it can be particularly difficult for patients receiving care in hopsital who aren't able to go home over the festive period.

"Our gift appeal is a way of bringing festive cheer to patients who aren't able to go home for Christmas. By raising money instead of accepting individual donations of gifts means we're able to by items in bulk, as a discount, and make sure we're providing gifts suitable for patients of all ages, genders and backgrounds. We always need the support of our local community, but this time of year, it means so much."

CHFT Charity has managed to raise £2,223 to our Give a Gift Appeal by hosting seasonal markets throughout the year, now we need your support to raise £1,777 to ensure that all patients receive a gift on Christmas Day.

Donations can be made through our dedicated donation page
