Eyeball models to support education

Thanks to generous donations into our Eye Department Fund, we have been able to purchase 2 eyeball models. One being an eye anatomy in skull form and the other being a human eye replica. Both models can come apart so that patients can understand and see where their eye problems are and what's causing them.

These eyes will make a positive impact on both our patients and staff. The models will be used to educate patients within our hospitals, community sites and school settings. They will enhance patient experience by improving education and compliance to procedures. Both models will also help with in house training for colleagues.

A big shoutout to Sophie Box, Workforce Project Development Manager, and Emma Griffiths, Clinical Manager for Orthoptics and Optometry, for working on this project and thinking about both patients and staff needs.
