6 days until our first Hospital 10k Walk event

Ian Noonan registered to take part in our Hospital 10k Walk and wanted to let us know why he is getting involved. Ian is very passionate about walking and promotes walking to clear your mind and to make people feel refreshed. Ian is currently a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health at the University of Huddersfield; however, he is joining the team at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust in September ina newly created post as a Consultant Nurse for Mental Health.

"I noticed the tweet about the walk and thought it would be a lovely thing to do with my husband and father-in-law. The walk will hopefully provide a great opportunity to meet some future colleagues, collaborators, and supporters of the trust from the community it serves. Somehow the walk captured something of the culture of the community. I have always viewed my mental health practice as a type of walking alongside others - whether that is clients, colleagues, carers, or students - so the sponsored walk seemed a lovely way to celebrate my new job and start my journey with CHFT."

It's not too late to register for your place in the Hospital 10k Walk event. Registration will be open until the day of the walk, you will even be able to register on the day outside Calderdale Royal Hospital. Get your walking boots on and raise some funds for your local NHS Charity.
