Chaplaincy Volunteer

The Chaplaincy Service at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is seeking compassionate volunteers to provide a welcoming presence and pastoral support within our hospitals. Volunteers offer a listening ear, companionship, and emotional support to people of all faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds, including those with no religious affiliation.

This rewarding role involves supporting individuals experiencing illness, anxiety, loss, or other life challenges. While volunteers do not provide religious or spiritual leadership, they help ensure people feel heard, valued, and cared for.

Applicants should be emotionally resilient, empathetic, and comfortable supporting people in vulnerable situations. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and expect all volunteers to respect and uphold diversity, inclusion, and person-centred care in every interaction.
