Hospital Support Volunteer
We’re looking for Hospital Support Volunteers to join our Volunteering Team to support patients, families and clinical teams by enhancing comfort, dignity and wellbeing during a patient’s hospital stay.
The role has several key focuses, these being: Nutrition and Hydration Support, Patient Support and Befriending, Ward Support and Responsiveness, Environment, Cleaning and Stock Management, Feedback and Patient Experience.
Applicants should be friendly, compassionate and have a desire to make a difference to patient experience on our hospital wards. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and expect all volunteers to respect and uphold diversity, inclusion, and person-centred care in every interaction.

KEY INFORMATION
Applications are open from Monday 24th August 2026 and will close on Sunday 20th September 2026 12:00am. Successful applicants to interview will be notified by Tuesday 29th September.
Face to face interviews will be held on Monday 5th and Wednesday 7th October 2026 at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
