Help Calderdale & Huddersfield Neonatal Unit Cycle to Lapland!
Our amazing NICU team is on a festive mission to raise over £7,000 to help fund a brand-new Parent and Family Room at Calderdale Royal Hospital. This will give families a much-needed space for comfort, privacy, and support during some of their most challenging moments.
Why this matters!
At such a vulnerable time, parents of babies in the Neonatal Unit need more than just medical support, they need a space to rest, reflect and be close to their little ones. We are transforming three parent rooms on the ward into warm, welcoming spaces where families can stay overnight.
With your help, we’ll redecorate these rooms to make them bright and comforting, adding soft furnishings, new beds, cozy chairs that truly feel like home. Your support will fund suitable furniture, soothing décor and practical amenities, ensuring that parents can stay close to their baby at a time when it matters most. Together, we can help families feel supported, comfortable and cared for during their Neonatal journey.
To make this happen, we’re taking on a huge challenge:
From the Monday 1st December at 10am-Till Santa sets off on Christmas Eve we need your help!
Cycle 2,160 miles - the distance from Calderdale to Lapland, before Christmas!
And we need your help to get us there.

We are kindly asking everyone to help us raise vital funds by taking part in a simple but powerful way:
- Nominate a family member or friend to ride, and sponsor them £1 for every mile they cycle.
- Whether they cycle 1 mile or 20, every mile makes a difference, and every pound brings us closer to our goal.
