Christmas is a magical time of year, but for children spending the holidays in hospital, it can feel very different. Being away from home, friends and family during the festive period can be difficult, which is why we do everything we can to make the children's ward as joyful and comforting as possible.
Every year, we are overwhelmed by the kindness of our community. We receive many wonderful donations for our young patients and these gifts truly brighten their Christmas. However, we often don't know when donations will arrive, which can make it tricky for our team to coordinate and make sure every child receives something special.
If you, your workplace, community group or organisation are planning to donate gifts to our children's ward this Christmas, we would be so grateful if you could let us know in advance. This will help us prepare and ensure gifts are distributed fairly and appropriately.
Our Play Team have kindly put together a guide of the types of gifts that are most needed and typically forgotten about each Christmas. Priority would be for babies, teenagers and children with complex needs.
These would be the sort of things we would be looking for:
Under 1’s:
| 1 - 3 year old's:
| Teenagers:
| Complex Needs:
|
Deadline for donations: Wednesday 10th December
Thank you for helping us bring a little Christmas magic to children in hosputal this year. Your generosity makes a huge difference!
