Donations enable the Children's Diabetes Team to participate in important training

Thanks to generous donations, fundraising efforts, and your support, the Children’s Diabetes Team was able to secure funding to attend an LGBTQ+ awareness and training session

The session aimed to educate staff on understanding and raising awareness of LGBTQ+ issues, as well as how to best support patients who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.

We would like to say a big thanks to Wren from the Brunswick Centre, who visited the Rainbow Community Hub to providing training and information to our colleagues.

Amanda Grayson, Patient Advocate for Paediatric Diabetes Team, said: “It was incredibly informative to hear more of the work they do, and learn more about the support services available, and empower us further in our understanding of the challenges young people encounter. Currently, we have four LGBTQ+ patients who access our services, so it was really important for our team to deeper our knowledge in order to support our patients as best as we can”.
